Weekend of festivities for both adults and children, involving fun races for everyone.  If you enjoy music and dance this is the place to be. The Regatta is held through out the monday with the Parishes and Four Man races taking place....

This four day event is a revival of the ancient Celtic Harvest Festival. There are activities aplenty as the locals encourage any tourists in the area to partake in such goings-on as hill walking, visits to the historical sites and the many beach and field competitions. There will also be loads of other entertainment such as poetry, music and plenty of song....

Held anually in the month of July, traditional namhogs take to the waters off venrty beach, along with a traditional music and dance festival taking place on the beach itself.

After harvest time comes the threshing. Come and see how it was done in the past such as the steam powered threshing machine, the flour milling, and the other vintage machinery from days of yore. There is plenty else to do and see such as the classic cars, wood turning and some activities for the kiddies....

After 36 years this event has blossomed into one of Ireland’s largest and most anticipated literary events on the calendar. There are a range of workshops,  that deals with the diverse styles of writing. This is the ideal event for any budding writer. It gives them a chance to come, talk with established writers and help them build a platform with which to build their talent....

This event is of special note to food lovers from throughout the country. The restaurant of the year award is made here and there is also a young chef award. There are classes for those looking to learn something extraordinary and some special seminars on various food related topics....

Known as Lá an Dreoilin to the locals this annual event, held on the 26th of December, involves a parade where everyone can come in fancy dress or straw costumes and have a bit of a laugh. There will be plenty of song and dance and the Wren’s go from pub to pub collecting for charity all the while playing some excellent music....

The first Brendan Kennelly Festival was held in 2001 and has continued anually ever since.
